Current intern postings include Quantitative Research Intern and Data Science Intern in Beijing or Shanghai, Software Engineer Intern in Budapest, and Quantitative Research Intern (LLMs & AI Agents) in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, each tied to a specific local research or technology office and to a degree finish date in late 2026 or 2027 for the China intern roles. Alongside these, the firm runs the International Quant Championship, a three-stage team competition on the BRAIN platform from March to September each year, in which strong performers "may be considered for BRAIN research consultant, internship or full-time employment opportunities." A candidate therefore has two distinct routes in with different evidence requirements: apply directly to a city-specific intern posting selected on academic and coding background, or accumulate alphas through IQC and BRAIN where the work itself acts as the application.

The BRAIN platform and the annual International Quant Championship let students build and submit alphas before they ever apply for a role; the IQC page states top performers "may be considered for BRAIN research consultant, internship or full-time employment opportunities at WorldQuant," with regional and global cash prizes of US$1,000 to US$20,000 per team. The 2025 IQC drew nearly 80,000 participants from over 11,000 universities across 142 countries, per the firm's own announcement, and the BRAIN page itself reports 250,000+ users, 9,000+ consultants and 125,000+ data fields. Hiring is also geographically distributed: the careers listing currently shows open roles across 26 cities including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Budapest, Yerevan, Montevideo and Mumbai, not only the usual New York/London/Singapore axis. For a candidate from outside a traditional target school, this changes what "preparing" looks like – sustained work on BRAIN over a season can substitute for the resumé filter that would otherwise screen them out at first pass.
