EFG International

It is organised into three professional paths – Business Functions (Private Banking, Global Markets and Treasury, Investment and Client Solutions), Corporate Functions (Risk, Compliance, Finance, HR and similar), and Digital and IT – and within each path graduates complete three six-month rotations: one in a chosen unit and two more across the wider business. Every cohort begins with a two-week onboarding in Switzerland, paired with both a mentor and a buddy for the duration. There is no separate summer internship pathway, and EFG asks candidates to apply to a single posting only, so the decision is essentially one binding choice of path and city at application rather than a series of parallel attempts.

A few structural points separate EFG from the larger Swiss wealth franchises:

• An eight-city placement footprint from day one – Miami, London, Luxembourg, Geneva, Zurich, Lugano, Singapore and Hong Kong – rather than a cohort concentrated in Zurich or Geneva, per the EFG Graduate Programme page.
• A three-path entry structure – Business Functions, Corporate Functions, Digital and IT – chosen at the application stage rather than allocated after onboarding.
• Three back-to-back six-month rotations inside 18 months, narrower per placement but broader across the bank than a single longer assignment.
• A common two-week Switzerland-based onboarding for the entire cohort, regardless of placement city.

The architecture rewards applicants who have already converged on both a path and a city. Candidates still deciding between client-facing and control functions, or between regions, get less optionality here than at peers that allocate placement only after a longer rotation.
