Data Analytics Summer Analyst

The Data Analytics Intern will work with members of the data team and will primarily be responsible for:

• Assisting with internal monitoring of data quality and data remediation.
• Supporting data governance and business analysis efforts.
• Assisting with data analytics and report automation.

Interns are generalists and will gain exposure to a comprehensive list of reporting responsibilities critical to the management of a diversified financial institution. Additional responsibilities may include:

• Identifying, validating, implementing, and monitoring data quality rules for key business data.
• Facilitating the resolution of data quality issues, including identification of root causes.
• Assisting in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes and related reporting.
• Assisting in the extraction, transformation, and loading of data in the cloud-based data warehouse.
• Assisting in report automation efforts through the development of Power BI reports.
• Assisting Managing Directors and senior staff as needed with various reports and analyses of strategic initiatives.

Candidates must demonstrate professionalism and strong client management skills, alongside robust technical, written, and verbal communication skills. The work environment is fast-paced, intense, and intellectually stimulating. Essential traits include the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, adaptability, and the capability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

While a background in programming or finance is helpful, JFIN welcomes interns from various disciplines.

Qualifications & Eligibility

Eligible applicants are expected to graduate between December 2027 and June 2028.

The salary for this role is $70,000 (pro-rated for the 10-week internship program).
