Tax Associate Responsibilities

As a Tax Associate, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparation of individual, estate, and fiduciary tax returns for US and non-US residents under the supervision of senior staff.
  • Servicing entrepreneurs and co-founders of corporate clients with net worth over $10M.
  • Participation in tax planning and consultation processes for clients through close collaboration with tax lawyers and wealth management firms.
  • Preparation of international tax forms, including 5471, 8865, 8858, and 114.

Qualifications and Requirements

If you possess the following:

Education and Experience

  • Education: At least a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, a related field, or actively working towards completion.
  • Experience: At least 1-2 years of general tax or accounting experience to establish a strong taxation foundation.

Technical and Soft Skills

  • Technical Skills:
    • Aptitude for using tax software and accounting tools, including international tax compliance software and Microsoft Excel.
    • Developing the ability to identify and address complex international tax issues and propose practical solutions.
  • Soft Skills:
    • The ability to work autonomously while maintaining a strong team spirit.
    • Reliability in meeting deadlines or proactively communicating potential delays.
    • Collaborating effectively with colleagues across various departments to deliver holistic client solutions.
    • Upholding high ethical standards and ensuring client confidentiality.
    • A continuous eagerness to learn and practicing professional skepticism.
    • Exceptional communication skills.
    • Working towards a CPA is a plus.
    • French language proficiency is a plus.
