Project Description
This internship offers the opportunity to explore the application of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, data analytics, automation, and digital technologies within a semiconductor manufacturing facilities environment.
The project focuses on developing AI-Enabled solutions to enhance equipment reliability, predictive analytics capabilities, operational efficiency, knowledge accessibility, and engineering decision-making. The intern will gain exposure to real-world industrial datasets, engineering workflows, cutting-edge AI technologies, and digital transformation initiatives.
Through collaboration with Facilities engineers and domain experts, the intern will learn how advanced analytics and Artificial Intelligence can be applied to solve operational challenges and create business value.
Objective of the Project
- Develop AI-Enabled solutions to improve Facilities Engineering analytics and decision-making.
- Apply Machine Learning and data analytics to equipment reliability, predictive maintenance, and operational data.
- Explore workflow-automation opportunities that improve engineering productivity and knowledge accessibility.
- Demonstrate the potential value of Artificial Intelligence within Smart Facilities initiatives.

- Analyse operational and sensor data to identify equipment trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities.
- Develop Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning prototypes for predictive maintenance and equipment monitoring.
- Create dashboards, visualization tools, or automation workflows that improve engineering decision-making.
- Explore AI-Enabled knowledge-management solutions that improve information accessibility and reuse.
Learning Opportunities
- Explore Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques for facilities equipment reliability and predictive maintenance.
- Learn how industrial data is collected, structured, governed, and used in Artificial Intelligence applications.
- Apply software-engineering principles to develop AI-Enabled tools, dashboards, and automation solutions.

Skillsets Required
- Basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, data analytics, or statistical concepts.
- Programming experience in Python, Structured Query Language, or similar languages.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent platforms.
- Understanding of databases, data processing, and software-development principles.
- Curiosity to learn emerging technologies; familiarity with Generative AI, AI Assistants, or AI-Enabled workflows is advantageous.
Course of Interest
The ideal candidate should be pursuing a Degree in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
Internship Details
Duration: The ideal candidate should be able to commit to a full-time internship period of 5 months, from January to June 2027.
High-performing interns who demonstrate strong technical capability, learning agility, and successful project outcomes may be considered for future internship or full-time employment opportunities.
