Overview of the Role

PagerDuty is seeking a Business Development Representative to join our diverse, customer-focused team. Reporting to a Manager of Sales Development, you will collaborate closely with our talented Account Executives, fueling their pipelines with promising leads and conquering territories together. You will be at the forefront of our Sales department, representing the prestigious PagerDuty brand and serving as the initial point of contact for our target accounts. Your role is to ignite their interest through a modern approach to outbound prospecting, nurturing, educating, and captivating them with the incredible value of PagerDuty.

Key Responsibilities

Value Selling

Focus on highlighting the unique PD value and the benefit our products and services can provide to a customer. This goes beyond just features and price, emphasizing the impact and solutions that address the customer's specific needs or challenges.

  • Effectively communicate PagerDuty's business value proposition to gauge purchasing interest, demonstrating a strong passion for transformation and innovation.
  • Quickly adapt to the Command of the Message (COM) selling model and employ solution selling/customer-centric sales methods.

Sales Effectiveness

Establish, oversee, and maintain genuine connections with customers.

  • Consistently achieve sales goals, maintaining a proven track record of success.
  • Exhibit strong collaboration and time management skills to maximize efficiency and productivity.

Sales Execution

Ensure that one’s own and others’ work and information are complete and accurate; meticulously prepare for meetings and presentations; and follow up to ensure agreements and commitments are fulfilled to contribute to PagerDuty's long-term strategic initiatives.

  • Utilize best practices in account development to strategically target enterprise accounts, leveraging various communication channels such as phone, email, video, and social technologies.
  • Employ a discovery process to engage in conversations with practitioners and management levels of our target accounts.
  • Proficiently use Salesforce, Sales Navigator, Gong Engage, and Demandbase to optimize sales activities and focus.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with potential customers and build relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple leads and opportunities effectively.
  • Adaptability and resilience to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic sales environment.
  • Passion for technology.
  • 1-2 Years of experience in outbound prospecting.
  • German Fluency Required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior sales development experience preferred.
  • Experience using Salesforce.com preferred.
  • BA/BS Degree.

Work Environment & Location
