Senior Executive, SXO Market Operations

Job Summary

We are seeking an analytical thinker to join our securities market operations team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience in one or more areas of the securities market value chain, including listing, trading, clearing and settlement, depository services, custody, corporate actions, securities borrowing and lending (SBL), know-your-customer (KYC) processes, and market data management.

This is a one-year contract position.

Responsibilities

• Execute procedures accurately and promptly across one or more areas, including listing, trading, clearing and settlement, corporate actions, custodial services, KYC, and market data operations.
• Proactively review and improve processes to maintain high standards of operational processing and risk management in daily operations and project implementation.
• Analyze issues and provide accurate recommendations to the manager to support timely decision-making in a 24-hour operating environment, including situations where underlying issues and solutions are not immediately apparent.
• Support and drive the completion of projects and initiatives to develop securities products and platforms.
• Strengthen relationships with members and other external stakeholders.
• Support the team manager and supervisors in building an effective and cohesive team that contributes to SGX’s success.

Requirements

• Degree holder with one to four years of experience in securities market operations, including, where applicable, familiarity with banking, brokerage, or share registrar operations.
• Strong understanding of equities and fixed income, currencies and commodities (FICC) products and processes across both exchange-traded and over-the-counter markets.
• Proven track record of accurate execution and strong attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
• Positive, can-do attitude.
• Fast learner with the ability to deal effectively with ambiguity.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Knowledge of VBA, R, or Python is an advantage.
