As an Analyst, you will typically work on multiple projects simultaneously, building a diverse skill set while contributing across all phases of a project—from early-stage research and data gathering through the preparation of expert reports, government filings, and other materials for clients. You will work closely with other analysts, economists, and case managers on a range of quantitative and qualitative tasks. The work is substantive from day one, supporting economists and experts whose work informs regulatory decisions, litigation outcomes, and important business and policy decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct quantitative research and analysis, including compiling, cleaning, and analyzing large data sets.
  • Conduct qualitative research and analysis, including reviewing, summarizing, and identifying relevant information from academic papers, analyst reports, press releases, industry literature, and documents produced in litigation.
  • Create tables, charts, and other visual representations of analyses.
  • Summarize and communicate research and analytical findings to team members and clients.
  • Ensure accuracy of work product using established audit and quality control processes.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for intellectually curious, analytically minded candidates eager to apply economic thinking to real-world issues. A strong academic foundation matters, as does the drive to keep learning once you join.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong academic background with a bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, or a related quantitative field.
  • Demonstrated quantitative and qualitative research and analytical skills.
  • Strong interest in Economics/Finance, statistical programming, and data analysis.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Significant coursework in economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, data science, or other quantitative fields.
  • Introductory knowledge of Stata, SAS, R, Python, or other statistical software.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to complete multiple tasks on tight deadlines while maintaining close attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

Your Development

At Compass Lexecon, the Analyst role is designed to be a valuable launching pad for your career. From day one, the firm provides mentorship, comprehensive onboarding training, and on-the-job learning opportunities through a diverse range of casework. The analytical depth and breadth of industry exposure you gain here provides exceptional preparation for the next stage of your career—whether that means graduate school or continued growth within the firm.
