Your Role
As a Junior Product Designer within the Design & Digital Products team, you will support the creation of thoughtful, brand-led digital experiences while developing a strong foundation in product design and design systems. Working alongside Product Designers, Strategists, Service Designers, Content Designers, and Developers, you will contribute to the delivery of scalable, consistent digital products—learning how design decisions move from concept through to implementation.
A key part of the role involves contributing to and working within design systems, helping ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency across digital experiences. You will begin to build confidence in how components, patterns, and tokens come together to support multiple products and brands.
You will bring curiosity, enthusiasm, and a desire to grow your craft—learning from others, asking questions, and gradually taking on more responsibility as your confidence develops. The team is built from diverse backgrounds and disciplines, and believes that inclusivity and collaboration lead to better design outcomes.
What You’ll Be Learning & Doing
- Support the design of user-centred digital products across web and app experiences
- Contribute to design systems using an atomic design approach
- Create and maintain components within Figma, with guidance from more senior designers
- Apply and understand:
- Design tokens
- Theming and modes (e.g. light/dark, brand variations)
- Auto-layout, variants, slots, and responsive behaviour
- Work with developers to understand how design systems are implemented in code
- Apply brand guidelines while designing within shared component libraries
- Iterate designs based on feedback from designers, stakeholders, and user insight
What We’re Looking For
- A foundation in Product / UI / Digital Design (through work experience, placements, or internships)
- Some experience creating or contributing to design systems or component libraries
- Familiarity with atomic design principles and how components scale across products
- Working knowledge of Figma, including components and auto-layout
- An interest in how design translates into real digital products
- A strong desire to learn, collaborate, and develop your craft
You don’t need to be a design-systems expert—we’re looking for potential, curiosity, and a solid starting point.
Experience
- 2–3 years of relevant experience, including 1–2 years in digital product design
- Exposure to the full design process: planning, research, concepting, UX and UI
- Experience working within brand-led digital projects is a plus
Design Craft & Foundations
- A strong appreciation for brand, typography, colour, and layout
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe CC
- Ability to create clear, well-considered design artefacts such as:
- Sketches and concepts
- Wireframes and user flows
- Screen designs and basic prototypes
- Growing confidence in visual polish and attention to detail
Systems, Accessibility & Technology
- Experience contributing to design systems, with an interest in how they’re built and maintained
- An understanding of accessibility guidelines and inclusive design principles
- Awareness of AI and emerging technology, and curiosity about how they can support better design outcomes
Mindset & Ways of Working
- A proactive, growth-oriented mindset—eager to learn, improve, and try new approaches
- Comfortable receiving feedback and using it to iterate and strengthen your work
- Willingness to ask questions, explore ideas, and think beyond the obvious
- A strong sense of care and pride in the quality of your output
What You’ll Do
- Support the design of brand-led digital products and experiences
- Contribute to UX and UI design tasks across projects, with guidance from more senior designers
- Help design interfaces that feel like natural extensions of the brand, balancing creativity with usability
- Assist in improving existing products through thoughtful iteration and creative problem-solving
- Create and maintain design artefacts, including sketches, wireframes, user flows, screen designs, and prototypes
- Collaborate with designers, developers, and researchers to deliver integrated solutions
- Contribute to design systems, learning how to apply and evolve them consistently
- Present your work and thinking clearly in team settings, explaining:
- What you designed
- Why decisions were made
- How feedback informed iteration
- Support pitch work and client sessions by contributing design ideas and artefacts
Mindset & Collaboration
- Passionate about design and eager to grow your craft
- Curious, open-minded, and inspired by creativity both in and outside of work
- A collaborative team player who values feedback and shared learning
- Motivated to raise the quality of work through care, effort, and curiosity
Things to Note
- Some clients require background checks. You will need to complete a Baseline Personal Security Standard (BPSS) to confirm your identity, criminal record, right to work, and residency.
- Comfortable with hybrid working. Every project is different, but the team works collaboratively in the studio and the client’s office.
- The organization is building a team that represents the diversity of society and is looking for people who will be a cultural add, not a cultural fit.
