College Intern - Community Impact - Fall 2026

Summary

Fall 2026 Internship. The Fall College Internship Program is a paid co-op/internship experience for undergraduate and graduate students. Interns attend development workshops, network with colleagues, and work on meaningful projects while being mentored by their respective managers throughout the fall.

Interns may work within skills-based tracks across Information Technology, Business Administration, Actuarial, Human Resources, Analytics & Data, Communications, Finance, Marketing & Sales, Project Management, Clinical Studies, Customer Experience, Digital Operations, and other non-technical and/or technical degree programs.

• Paid internship/co-op.
• May reside in either a technical or non-technical area.
• Housing is not provided as part of the internships/co-ops.

Essential Accountabilities

• Specific duties vary by assignment; specific divisional callouts are listed below.
• Contribute to initiatives that strengthen community health outcomes through data analysis, stakeholder collaboration, and the assessment of evidence-based, community-centered strategies.
• Work alongside community health, program, and evaluation teams to support health equity, identify opportunities for systems improvement, and inform decision-making through research, analysis, and community input.
• Key project areas may include:
  • Evaluation and impact analysis of community health interventions
  • Framework development for identifying and addressing health disparities
  • Health equity education, outreach, and awareness initiatives
  • Environmental scanning and landscape analysis of health equity, population health, and quality strategies
  • Review and assessment of community advisory structures and engagement approaches
  • Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) analysis and recommendation development
• Work with a mentor and support key strategic projects.
• Complete work assignments and responsibilities that may vary based on business need, departmental opportunities, and the student’s qualifications.
• Perform functions that are non-technical and/or technical in nature across a broad range of business-related projects.
• Create and deliver a presentation at completion of the internship.

Minimum Qualifications

• Desired majors include Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT Networking, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Biology, Business, Management, or similar degree program.
• Preferred skills or experience in:

  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• High school diploma and proof of continuous college enrollment (enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program).
• Must be in good academic standing.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences and interface with staff at all levels of the company.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and deliver high-quality work product.
• Ability to work well in a team and build effective working relationships with peers.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize with strong attention to detail.
• Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrates strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive approach to work, demonstrating creativity and flexibility in completing assigned tasks.
• Commitment to continuous improvement of skills and team functioning.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as on intra- and inter-departmental teams where needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work while sitting and/or standing at a workstation viewing a computer and using a keyboard, mouse, and/or phone for three (3) or more hours at a time.
• Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or trainings as needed.

Compensation Range(s)

• Level I: Minimum $18.00 - Maximum $20.00
• Level II: Minimum $21.00 - Maximum $23.00

The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position. Actual salary will vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, budget available, prior experience, knowledge, skill, and education as they relate to the position’s minimum qualifications, in addition to internal equity. The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package.
