Internship location: PIMCO’s New York City office.

Eligibility

You’re eligible to apply if you:

• Are pursuing an undergraduate degree.
• Can begin full-time employment at a PIMCO office between January 2028 – August 2028.
• Are enrolled at a university during the Fall 2027 semester (August 2027 – December 2027).
• Have a minimum 3.2 cumulative collegiate GPA on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent) at an accredited 4-year college or university.
• Are business proficient in English.

About the Internship

PIMCO’s Capital Markets team partners with portfolio managers to assess, structure, and execute financing opportunities across PIMCO’s investment platform. Interns provide market intelligence, transaction analysis, and execution support to inform investment decisions and contribute to broader strategic initiatives.

PIMCO has developed a significant presence in alternative credit and private investment strategies, including strategies that identify value primarily in listed securities using fundamental and capital structure analysis, and strategies that privately finance the debt and equity needs of companies, asset holders, and origination platforms. PIMCO invests globally across commercial and residential real estate and mortgage credit, performing and distressed corporate debt, and specialty finance markets.

What You’ll Do

As a Capital Markets Group Intern, you will:

• Support the Capital Markets team with market intelligence, transaction analysis, and execution support.
• Contribute to investment decision-making across PIMCO’s investment platform.
• Assist with broader strategic initiatives across the business.

You’ll excel as an Alts Capital Markets Analyst Intern if you have:

• Outstanding academic credentials and demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Enthusiasm for financial markets and investment management.
• Strong work ethic and integrity; a proactive, self-motivated team player.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across teams, including Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Credit Research Analysts.
• Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, with strong written and oral presentation skills; able to be persuasive and credible.
• Ability to work effectively on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Demonstrated curiosity and experience using emerging technologies and AI tools in work or school projects to solve problems and drive better outcomes.

The PIMCO Internship Experience

• The internship is a 10-week program running from early June to mid-August, with the expectation that you will be available for the full duration.
• During Week 1, you’ll participate in PIMCO Fundamentals Training to build skills, knowledge, and relationships for success.
• Participate in PIMCO’s Global Month of Volunteering and engage with community-driven volunteer efforts.
• Join cross-divisional education, networking, and social events.
• Receive guidance and mentorship throughout the summer from your supervisor, peer mentor, senior leaders, and the team.
• Gain hands-on experience with AI-powered tools from day one, supported by training and resources.
• Receive feedback at mid- and end-of-summer as part of a formal review process aligned with summer goals.
• As a PIMCO intern, you’ll receive competitive compensation, along with a transition bonus to help with relocation to one of the office locations.

Interview Process

• After receiving your application, PIMCO will conduct an initial review of your resume.
• If selected to move forward, you will complete a cognitive assessment and a one-way video interview to showcase your interests, skills, and personality.
• After completing the assessment and one-way video interview, you’ll participate in a final round of live interviews via video conference, typically including behavioral and technical questions.

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $52.88
