Job Description
The Teller II works in a TD Store location and plays a key role in delivering legendary customer experiences while processing everyday banking transactions with accuracy and efficiency. The role also educates customers on TD’s products and services or refers them to a partner for specialized solutions.
Depth & Scope
- Executes TD’s Brand promise by consistently delivering a Legendary Customer experience in the Store.
- Processes customer transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and safe deposit box payments, efficiently.
- Processes cash transactions such as cashing checks, verifying currency, balancing cash drawers, and night deposits with high accuracy.
- Responds to and resolves customer inquiries and concerns using standard procedures; escalates to management as necessary.
- Provides lobby leadership by orchestrating customer flow, warmly welcoming customers, and guiding them appropriately.
- Understands customer preferences and educates customers on self-service/digital options that meet their needs.
- Acts as a customer advocate through needs-based conversations, offering financial and digital solutions and/or referring customers to the appropriate partner.
- Trains and mentors new Tellers.
- Assists supervisors with daily duties as directed by Store leadership.
- Ensures compliance with operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations (including the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act) to minimize risk and protect the customer.
- Verifies customers’ identities by following customer authentication policies and procedures.
- Balances cash drawers for Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and Teller Cash Dispensers (TCDs)/Teller Cash Recyclers (TCRs) as necessary.
- Adheres to safe deposit box procedures, operations, and guidelines.
- Maintains responsibility and accountability for cash drawers and vaults, including appropriate cash limits and securing cash at all times.
- Ensures confidential customer information is securely stored throughout the day.
- Understands the importance of, and follows, dual control.
- Follows all security and audit measures to minimize potential loss.
- Utilizes bank tools and processes to detect, address, and prevent fraud.
- Completes all required in-classroom and online training by established due dates.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1 year teller or cash handling experience preferred.
- Demonstrated customer service skills preferred.
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to be concise, clear, and consistent.
