Salary Range: $110,000 - $135,000
Leerink Partners Equity Research offers a career path at the intersection of financial markets and the healthcare space. In this role, you will work directly with a Sr. Analyst covering the Medical Devices and Technology sector in our New York office to assist in preparing and executing analyses of industry groups, individual companies, and their securities within the healthcare industry.
The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of intellectual curiosity and passion for the stock market, along with the ability to be a strong team player in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare reports, opinions, recommendations, and statistical data, including financial statement modeling, to support the firm’s investment policies and recommendations.
- Collect, evaluate, and apply statistical and financial data on the economy and financial markets, with a focus on researching common stocks within the healthcare industry.
- Analyze and synthesize data, and present trends and ideas to support business opportunities and investment decision-making.
- Interview company executives or industry leaders to develop and maintain sources of information for analyses.
- Maintain company databases using spreadsheet and database software.
- Prepare studies and other data for firm publications issued to the general public.
- Prepare and disseminate special studies, models, forecasts, and/or presentations to provide information for investment decisions.
- Respond to inquiries from firm personnel regarding individual securities or industry groups.
Experience and Qualifications Required
- BS or BA required; MBA, CFA, or PhD/MD candidates preferred.
- Healthcare investment banking, sell-side research, or medical device industry experience strongly preferred.
- Strong customer and client service skills.
- Solid writing and communication skills.
- Ability to search, understand, and interpret scientific and medical publications.
- Some exposure to finance and financial statements.
- Interest in the stock market and healthcare equity investment research.
- Ability to potentially convert to a full-time employee after the 6-month fellowship is completed.
Application Process
As part of the process, you will be asked to complete an at-home case study, which will include building a financial model and providing a writing sample.
