Risk Management – Climate, Nature, and Social Risk Analyst

As part of Risk Management and Compliance, you help JPMorganChase (JPMC) remain strong and resilient by anticipating new and emerging risks and applying expert judgment to solve real-world challenges affecting the company, customers, and communities. The culture in Risk Management and Compliance emphasizes thinking outside the box, challenging the status quo, and striving to be best-in-class.

As a Risk Management – Climate, Nature, and Social Risk Analyst in the Climate, Nature and Social (CN&S) Risk team, you will shape the firm’s approach to managing CN&S risks. JPMC is committed to understanding how climate change may drive or influence the risks the firm identifies and manages, including evaluating how business activities and the activities of clients and customers could be impacted through transition and/or physical risks driven by climate change. The CN&S Risk team is led by the Firmwide Risk Executive for Climate Risk and is responsible for establishing the firmwide framework and strategy for climate risk management, developing and advancing climate risk policy and standards, and building the firm’s approach to climate risk data. The CN&S Risk team collaborates with stakeholders across the firm to integrate climate considerations into line-of-business risk management frameworks.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong attention to detail, able to communicate clearly in both verbal and written communications. You will collaborate with internal global stakeholders, use research and communications skills to build the CN&S intelligence capabilities of the team, and deliver critical insights to inform the development of CN&S models, frameworks, and risk management capabilities. This is an opportunity to contribute to a rapidly evolving area within financial services with high focus and visibility within J.P. Morgan.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality presentations and written materials for internal stakeholders, working groups, and senior management forums, effectively communicating technical and quantitative information on CN&S risk topics for senior audiences.
  • Align the firm’s public climate-related statements and disclosures to industry reporting and regulatory disclosure requirements (e.g., ISSB/TCFD, CSRD) with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Stay informed on emerging CN&S risk topics, regulatory developments, and trends by conducting data-driven, tailored research and peer benchmarking; produce insightful summaries to enhance risk management.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure understanding of CN&S risk capabilities, quantify CN&S risks across lines of business and risk management teams, and identify collaboration opportunities aligned with key priorities.
  • Manage CN&S-related projects to ensure timely and successful execution, coordinating with relevant teams and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, public policy, communications, or a related field, with a strong background or interest in CN&S topics.
  • Ability to synthesize technical information and extract key messages clearly, accurately, and succinctly for senior audiences.
  • Familiarity with financial institutions and the ability to interpret climate-related financial risk.
  • Sharp critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to work independently to produce deliverables with high standards and within tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, with demonstrated experience creating high-impact presentations and briefs.
  • Demonstrated ability using LLM/AI tools to improve analysis and insights.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • Experience in a previous climate-risk related role, such as climate risk consulting.
