Job Overview
In this role, you will support the site energy sustainability program and introduce good energy management practices to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact. The program will align with the global energy conservation program and the Singapore Energy Act. You will support the site in analyzing energy efficiency opportunities, leveraging expertise, and managing projects to implement improvements.
Responsibilities
- Support cost transformation for the utilities program. Serve as project owner, ensuring projects are implemented on schedule, validated against commitments, and supported by accurate reporting. Conduct analysis, identify risks, propose mitigations, and report to the governance committee.
- Support the site energy efficiency program by introducing good energy management practices to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact, in alignment with the global energy conservation program and the Singapore Energy Act. Analyze energy efficiency opportunities, leverage expertise, and drive projects to implement improvements.
- Support the site energy conservation program with all stakeholders to ensure site-wide consistency in energy awareness, energy conservation, and active participation.
- Support the computerized energy monitoring system for the site to drive efficiency and sustainability.
- Support energy audits by evaluating options and providing solutions. Promote the company energy efficiency program to ensure high employee awareness of energy use and energy-efficient equipment operation.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indices and take mitigation actions to ensure objectives are met; escalate where appropriate.
Engineering Services Support
- Coordinate with GES on site process engineering design, construction, and equipment validation activities when appropriate.
- Support the Energy Lead – Engineering to develop profit plan forecasts and execute activities to meet production, cost effectiveness, and cost reduction targets.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Energy Lead.
Management of Maintenance, Utilities & Facilities
- Support the utility / process / system energy efficiency program through data compilation, analysis, and recommendations to stakeholders to reduce wastage or identify alternative energy-efficient methodologies.
- Collaborate with maintenance and utilities managers to ensure equipment has an effective preventive maintenance (PM) or predictive program so equipment operates at high energy efficiency.
- Support utility budgets, monitor actual billing spend, and track energy conservation projects against budget. Analyze and report risks and mitigation plans.
- Coordinate the implementation of energy projects with utilities operations with the least impact to manufacturing.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and in compliance with safety and quality requirements.
Technical Competencies
- Basic knowledge of energy conservation technologies, proven energy savings programs, standards, and benchmarking.
- Basic practical application of theoretical engineering knowledge.
- Basic development and monitoring of engineering budgets.
- Basic planning of engineering and non-engineering activities in support of the role.
- Basic principles and application of risk-based decision-making.
- Consistently applies and promotes LSS, MPS, and change management tools.
