The opportunity

EY-Parthenon’s unique combination of transformative strategy, transactions, and corporate finance delivers real-world value—solutions that work in practice, not just on paper. Benefiting from EY’s full spectrum of services, we’ve reimagined strategic consulting to work in a world of increasing complexity.

With deep functional and sector expertise, paired with innovative AI-powered technology and an investor mindset, we partner with CEOs, Boards, Private Equity, and Governments every step of the way—enabling you to shape your future with confidence.

Within EY-Parthenon’s Strategy and Execution sub service line, the Tech Private Equity Value Creation team is a specialized group focused on unlocking growth and operational efficiency for private equity portfolio companies. The team works primarily with PE-backed, SaaS businesses in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) sector.

Our team partners with management teams to identify critical business challenges, uncover actionable insights, and develop strategic and tactical recommendations, typically supporting execution planning and, in many cases, helping drive implementation. This is a high-impact, fast-paced environment where consultants play a key role in delivering results and shaping client outcomes.

Your key responsibilities

  • Conduct structured, data-driven analysis to identify root causes and quantify opportunities using Excel and other tools.
  • Develop actionable, data-backed recommendations across go-to-market, pricing, customer success, product, and operations.
  • Develop and test hypotheses to address complex business problems across go-to-market, pricing, customer success, product, and operations.
  • Prepare client-ready deliverables and contribute to presentations with increasing independence.
  • Support Directors and Partners by preparing materials and insights for client meetings.
  • Take ownership of discrete workstreams and begin to lead internal and client discussions with limited oversight.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional client teams and EY-Parthenon colleagues to drive alignment and momentum.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Leadership: Proactive mindset; willingness to take ownership of workstreams and contribute ideas; ability to guide junior team members and support team cohesion.
  • Comfort in ambiguity: Ability to bring structure and clarity to unfamiliar or evolving situations.
  • Commercial acumen: Strong business judgment and understanding of how to drive value for clients.
  • Agility and results orientation: Thrives in dynamic environments; adapts quickly to new information and shifting priorities.
  • Communication and storytelling: Distill complex analyses into clear, compelling narratives for clients.
  • Industry fluency: Familiarity with the TMT landscape, particularly B2B SaaS business models and operating challenges.
  • Learning mindset: Eagerness to grow through feedback, coaching, and hands-on experience.
  • Relationship building: Build trust and credibility with team members and client stakeholders.
  • Analytical rigor: Comfortable working with large datasets, developing hypotheses, and synthesizing insights.
  • Project contribution: Independently manage tasks while contributing to broader team goals.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit: Curiosity and initiative to explore new ideas and challenge the status quo.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or Analytics, and 1 year of related work experience; or a graduate degree and some related work experience.
  • Experience in management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, or operating roles with significant exposure to growth, go-to-market, or operational improvement.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel modeling, PowerPoint storytelling, and structured problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
  • Experience developing client presentations and communicating insights effectively.
  • Understanding of financial statements and operational performance metrics.
  • Experience leading and managing in complex business environments.
  • Ability to reside in, or be in commutable distance to, the office location for this position.
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary; travel may be required beyond the work location based on client and project needs.

Ideally, you will have

  • MBA from a top-rated school.
  • Direct experience with private equity sponsors and/or PE-backed portfolio companies.
  • Sector experience in TMT, with particular emphasis on B2B SaaS business models.
  • Familiarity with go-to-market strategy, product development, or operational improvement in a consulting or operating role.
  • Knowledge of how to leverage firm-approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.

What we look for
