Intern, Investigations, Diligence and Compliance - Core

About the Role

At Kroll, we’re looking for collaborative, curious, and enthusiastic individuals to join our Investigations, Diligence and Compliance (IDC) practice. Our IDC Core team helps clients make critical decisions about transactions, partnerships, and operational expansions through in-depth subject matter expertise, global research capabilities, and flexible technology tools.

As an Intern, you’ll assist case managers with case work through tasks spanning research support to leading your own projects, including creating presentations that identify key findings in investigations.

Responsibilities

• Carry out due diligence research using databases, the internet, and public domain tools.
• Collate and organize large volumes of information.
• Perform document review and analysis.
• Interrogate open-source findings and identify negative information or risk-relevant patterns.
• Analyze, summarize, and contextualize complex allegations, disputes, and fact patterns relevant to financial crime compliance, including in challenging media environments.
• Handle all steps in preparing an integrity due diligence report, including conducting investigative open-source research, report writing, and finalizing reports.
• Assist other Case Managers with specific research or report-writing tasks.
• Support Managers by identifying and mapping information to inform commercial proposals.
• Communicate regularly with colleagues to provide case work progress updates and highlight key issues where necessary.
• Organize case files, maintain accurate research records, and record all billable costs.
• Provide additional research and administrative support to the team when requested.

Requirements

• Fluency in English and proficiency in another language.
• Degree pursued: penultimate/final year Bachelor’s or Master’s degree; social sciences are preferred but not required.
• Proven research and analytical skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Awareness of sensitivities when working across a variety of cultural and political environments.
• Ability to communicate with impact to managers and colleagues.
