Associate Corporate Counsel

Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft, and is engineered for ambition. The Corporate Legal team is split into several pillars: Advisory, Governance, and Disputes. This role assists all pillars and is based in New York City, with work that supports a global organization.

What You Will Do

• Handle disputes autonomously, advising Adyen on commercial outcomes and finding pragmatic solutions as challenges arise.
• Primarily support the Governance team in the US by facilitating local board meetings in the US and Canada, and drafting and guiding board meetings throughout LATAM.
• Partner with the Advisory team on corporate projects, including corporate development, capital markets, and disclosures.
• Provide legal advice across corporate functions, supporting teams such as regulatory, procurement, and partnerships.
• Contract with third-party vendors, including review and negotiation of service agreements and license agreements; may lead re-contracting efforts for major projects such as DORA and EBA.
• Contribute to business and legal projects globally, including implementation of regulatory requirements, cross-functional initiatives, product, and procurement.
• Monitor new legislative proposals and other legal and compliance developments relevant to Adyen globally.
• Provide input into the Corporate Legal team’s use of AI and other efforts to support scalability and automation.

Who You Are

• Law degree and at least 1.5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Strong generalist legal experience in commercial or corporate law.
• Collaborative team player who can include others to sharpen ideas.
• Ability to structure and prioritize in a high-volume, fast-paced environment; able to build, innovate, and drive processes to completion.
• Able to work from the New York City office.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this role is $135,000–$175,000.
