The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications) and our first-party devices and services that combine Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams in this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make user interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for users worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Write product or system development code.
  • Enhance Android efficiency to help lower-income communities gain access to computing devices, internet, news, and education.
  • Influence the Android platform roadmap and assist teams across Google.
  • Learn about Android architecture and system design.
  • Work on large-scale data systems.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms.
  • 1 year of experience with full-stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, Go, or C++, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS, or equivalent.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience as a full-stack engineer who can adapt to new codebases and technologies quickly.
  • Knowledge of telemetry.
