Role Overview
We have Collateral Management (Cleared and non-cleared), Portfolio Reconciliation and Margin Lending as part of MCVO within the Goldman Sachs Operations organization. This global, multi-faceted, cross-product function aims to mitigate counterparty credit risk through active monitoring of clients’ derivative, prime brokerage, GS execution & clearing, derivatives clearing, and securities financing portfolios. The NY MCVO team works in close partnership with teams in New York, London, Warsaw, Singapore, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru.
Products supported include foreign exchange, commodities, credit, equity, interest rate, and bespoke structured derivatives. The team manages a wide range of complex processes, with members developing skills around derivative and security products, their respective business areas, legal agreements, technology flows, and regulations. The Prime Margin Lending team sits within the Margin, Collateral Valuations Operations (MCVO) group and supports a broad array of Goldman Sachs businesses including Prime Brokerage (PB) and Goldman Sachs Execution and Clearing (GSEC). The team monitors to ensure clients remain within exposure limits and takes actions to bring accounts back within limits. The primary job responsibility is validating and ensuring all margin calls are issued on a timely basis, working closely with Business Partners to ensure calls are met promptly. Regulatory reporting obligations are performed daily across businesses.
Responsibilities
- Mitigate counterparty credit risk by performing a range of operational processes within MCVO.
- Provide high level of service to clients and demonstrate initiative to identify inefficiencies, risks, and improvements.
- Interact with a wide range of bank areas including Credit Risk Management, Legal and Compliance, Sales, Trading, Controllers, Middle Office, Client Representatives, Central Clearing Services, and other Operations Departments.
- Monitor exposure limits for Prime Margin Lending clients and take actions to maintain within limits.
- Validate and issue margin calls on a timely basis and collaborate with Business Partners to ensure timely responses.
- Contribute to regulatory reporting obligations across businesses on a daily basis.
