MSB Test Process Engineering
Internship Title
Intern – MSB Test Process Engineering (Process Analysis & Improvement Project)
Project Description
This internship provides a structured learning opportunity for students to gain hands-on exposure to semiconductor test process engineering through a defined, project-based assignment.
The intern will work under the guidance of an assigned engineer to study, analyze, and evaluate selected test process workflows, engineering data, and documentation practices. The focus of the internship is on learning semiconductor manufacturing concepts, engineering problem-solving approaches, and continuous improvement methodologies, rather than performing routine production or operational duties.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the internship, the intern is expected to:
- Develop foundational understanding of semiconductor test processes and engineering workflows
- Learn basic engineering analysis techniques such as data review, trend analysis, and issue characterization
- Gain exposure to engineering documentation standards, operational procedures, and specification frameworks
- Build structured problem-solving and technical communication skills through a guided project
- Understand how continuous improvement initiatives are identified, evaluated, and proposed in an engineering environment
Project Scope
Under close supervision, the intern will:
- Study selected test process flows and supporting engineering documentation
- Perform engineering data analysis (e.g., yield trends, process indicators) for learning and evaluation purposes
- Participate in engineering evaluations related to process changes, new materials, or equipment introductions through observation and guided analysis
- Support documentation improvement efforts by drafting or reviewing proposed updates to procedures or specifications (non-production use)
- Assist in preparing technical summaries, presentations, or reports based on project findings
- Contribute ideas to continuous improvement initiatives as part of a learning exercise
At the end of the internship, the intern is expected to produce:
- A technical project report summarizing analysis, observations, and learning outcomes
- A process or data analysis summary (e.g., charts, tables, or dashboards used for learning purposes)
- A presentation of project findings and recommendations to the engineering team
- Draft documentation or improvement proposals (for review only)
Required Skillsets / Qualifications
- Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Fundamental understanding of engineering or technical concepts
