As part of Risk Management and Compliance, you help JPMorgan Chase (JPMC) stay strong and resilient by anticipating new and emerging risks and using expert judgment to solve real-world challenges that impact the firm, customers, and communities. The Risk Management and Compliance culture emphasizes thinking creatively, challenging the status quo, and striving to be best-in-class.
As a Risk Management — Climate, Nature, and Social (CN&S) Risk Analyst in the CN&S Risk team, you will shape the firm’s approach to managing CN&S risks. JPMC is committed to understanding how climate change may drive or influence identified risks and how our business and the activities of clients and customers could be affected by transition and/or physical climate risks. The CN&S Risk team, led by the Firmwide Risk Executive for Climate Risk, establishes the firmwide framework and strategy for climate risk management, develops climate risk policy and standards, and builds our approach to climate risk data. The CN&S Risk team collaborates with stakeholders across the Firm to integrate climate considerations into line-of-business risk management frameworks.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with impeccable attention to detail, able to articulate thoughts clearly in both verbal and written form. They will collaborate with internal global stakeholders, using research and communications to advance CN&S intelligence capabilities and deliver insights to inform CN&S models, frameworks, and risk management capabilities. Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality presentations and written materials for internal stakeholders, working groups, and senior management forums, effectively communicating technical and quantitative CN&S risk topics to senior audiences.
- Strategically align the firm’s public climate-related statements and disclosures with industry reporting and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISSB/TCFD, CSRD) with meticulous attention to detail.
- Stay informed on emerging CN&S risk topics, regulatory developments, and trends; conduct data-driven, tailored research and peer benchmarking; produce insightful summaries to enhance risk management.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of CN&S risk capabilities, quantify CN&S risks across lines of business and risk management teams, and identify collaboration opportunities aligned with key priorities.
- Manage CN&S-related projects to ensure timely and successful execution, coordinating with relevant teams and stakeholders.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, public policy, communications, or a related field with a strong background or interest in CN&S topics.
- Ability to synthesize technical information and convey key messages clearly, accurately, and succinctly to senior audiences.
- Familiarity with financial institutions and the ability to interpret climate-related financial risk.
- Sharp critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to work independently to produce deliverables on time and to high standards.
- Strong communication skills with demonstrated experience creating high-impact presentations and briefs.
- Demonstrated ability to use LLM/AI tools to improve analysis and insights.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Minimum 1+ years of experience in the financial services industry.
- Experience in a climate-risk related role, such as climate risk consulting.
