Overview
Analytics Intern will support a suite of MSCI Analytics (with a focus on Barra and RiskMetrics products). This role involves working on projects that explain risk and pricing models applied to multi-asset class portfolios, partnering with the consultant team to provide expertise in client engagements and pre-sales activities, and assisting clients in using MSCI Analytics to comply with regulations such as FRTB and UCITS.
Responsibilities
- Manage relationships within the analytics client base and implement strategic plans to ensure client retention.
- Proactively engage with clients and provide best practices guidance on risk measurement, risk management, pricing models using Barra or RiskMetrics products, and guidance on regulation (FRTB, PRIIPs, UCITS).
- Provide programming support to highly sophisticated and quantitative clients using Barra and/or RiskMetrics products.
- Identify opportunities to increase client usage of our products and to identify new users.
- Collaborate with the sales team on potential sales opportunities and assist in campaigns for new product placement.
- Keep clients informed of the product roadmap and how development efforts will help them achieve business goals; solicit client feedback on future product development.
- Coordinate with internal functional teams to ensure client requests/inquiries are managed appropriately.
- Respond to detailed client inquiries about methodologies and analytics; conduct advanced client trainings/workshops and present in seminars.
- Maintain and communicate accurate records regarding client interaction activities.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Strong experience in a quantitative function with excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment and explain technical topics succinctly and professionally.
- Experience with modeling structured products using Monte Carlo or closed-form techniques (e.g., accumulator strips, triple binary options, absolute return barrier notes, convertible target redemption forwards) is a plus.
- Extensive experience pricing instruments across asset classes such as fixed income, equities, commodities, and credit markets is a plus.
- Experience with object-oriented programming languages is a plus.
- Experience with numerical computing languages (e.g., R) is a plus.
