About the position

This is a lending professional role within the front office. As a team member, you will carry primary responsibility for key processes related to lending transactions and assist a team of bankers who execute new lending transactions. You will work closely with client relationship managers—Directors and Managing Directors—and sector experts to originate new lending transactions, with an emphasis on Fund Finance.

The Fund Finance (FF) group at ING Capital offers a broad range of structured finance solutions to clients in the asset management industry, including alternative investment managers and their affiliated investment funds. FF is a leader in its field, frequently acting as lead arranger in transactions, and we emphasize strong and lasting client relationships.

Principal financing solutions include:

  • Portfolio finance facilities / lender finance: financing public and private investment vehicles (e.g., private debt funds, business development companies, and SPVs) based on the characteristics of underlying portfolio investments.
  • Subscription finance facilities: financing to private equity, real estate, infrastructure, credit, and similar funds based on the quality of investor commitments to the fund.

Responsibilities

  • Support the origination efforts of ING’s sector bankers
  • Participate in initial deal screening, selection, and risk analysis
  • Perform due diligence and support internal credit approvals on transactions
  • Review financing documents and validate key terms and conditions
  • Build and manipulate existing transaction models and internal risk rating and return models
  • Coordinate loan closings by interfacing with risk, loan operations, treasury, legal teams, clients, and co-lenders
  • Contribute to capital structuring for transactions in the fund finance sector
  • Stay current on organizational operating policies and procedures (Risk, Legal, etc.) to ensure proper protocols are implemented and followed

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated high academic achievement
  • Demonstrated interest in private credit and/or NAV-based lending; prior experience is a plus
  • Strong financial and credit analysis capabilities
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities
  • Committed and dedicated individual who continuously improves team processes
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a deal-oriented, deadline-driven environment
  • Collaborative, team-oriented, and able to work effectively across functions and regions

Salary Range: $105,000–$115,000

The salary range reflects base salary only. This role is eligible for participation in a discretionary bonus program.
