Role

We are currently seeking a high-calibre professional to join our team as a Collections Associate - GRF.

Responsibilities

  • Critically assess each case where retail customers are found to be experiencing difficulty in meeting financial obligations to the bank.
  • Service customers in a manner that promotes the belief that HSBC can help them during periods of financial difficulty.
  • Provide customers with the confidence that HSBC understands their specific situation and concerns.
  • Agree appropriate solutions to meet customers’ needs that are positive, sustainable, and based on a clear understanding of each customer’s affordability and circumstances.
  • Determine if there are issues of vulnerability and progress special handling of individuals when appropriate.
  • Adhere to regulatory requirements and Collections policies.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Related collections experience with the ability to manage and review delinquent, revoked, or written-off RBWM both secured and unsecured accounts by recommending effective collection actions reflecting a balanced approach toward limiting financial losses, including:
    • Control flow prior to write-off
    • Maximize recoveries
  • Handle all accounts impacted by MAS regulatory changes, non-English-speaking calls transferred from offshore teams, and debt restructuring requests.
  • Monitor and supervise External Debt Collections Agencies (DCA) and Legal Recovery Law Firms, upholding HSBC values and protecting HSBC data at all times.
  • Manage/review draft responses on exceptional collections cases, such as customer feedback and MAS letters.
  • Participate in UAT, take on adhoc projects, or any assignments beyond the given portfolio.
  • Liaise with external parties such as lawyers, Credit Counselling Singapore, Associations Banks of Singapore, MAS, and HSBC overseas counterparts.
