Trainee Broker- International Forward

Role Overview

The International Forward desk is seeking a Trainee Broker to join their Hong Kong team. This entry-level role offers on-the-job training and exposure to the financial markets we operate within. We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual who can work autonomously and collaboratively in a small team and think on their feet. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a highly experienced team and is ideal for someone starting their career in Financial Services.

Role Responsibilities

• Promote ICAP as a company
• Provide complete support to the brokers for the smooth running of the desk
• Ensure timely input of trades into trading systems
• Resolve trade queries received internally and externally; ensure trade discrepancies are resolved promptly
• Identify trade opportunities and calculate strategies
• Keep trade records up to date
• Update real-time manual/electronic whiteboards with market data
• Provide input on various projects for brokers and traders
• Provide trade details to brokers and traders on a daily basis
• Give live quotes to traders through the messaging systems
• Monitor markets and follow financial news and developments
• Understand underlying products and stay up to date with new products/procedures
• Liaise with clients (via telephone and face-to-face) to understand business objectives and provide reliable, efficient broking service
• Develop new business with existing clients and onboard new clients following the correct process with the Client On-Boarding team

Essential

• Understands ideas and has a viewpoint on the markets and economy
• Willingness to engage with internal and external stakeholders outside of the immediate desk environment
• Bilingual language skills in Mandarin and English
• Communicates effectively and efficiently to internal and external stakeholders
• Builds relationships and networks with both internal and external parties where possible
