Your Role in the Team's Success
As a Trainee Sales Trader, you’ll receive:
- Personalized one-on-one training with our dedicated trainers
- A strong understanding of various financial instruments such as stocks, options, futures, FX, cryptocurrencies, bonds, and commodities
- A solid foundation of platform, account management, and customer support knowledge
- Continued training in every aspect of financial dealing to ensure you are equipped to provide trade execution services to our customers.
What you’ll do
Customer experience is the bedrock of our business, preparing you for a range of roles across our global organization. Local and international opportunities within our dealing desk, risk, compliance, sales, operations, IT, and more lie ahead for top performers.
You will:
- Provide phone and digital support on a full spectrum of financial products—from OTC derivatives to equities, options, and cryptocurrencies
- Champion the customer across a wide range of queries and cross-sell our products and platforms
- Provide trading expertise on P&L and margin calculations, order types, charges, and trade investigations
- Deliver an execution-only phone dealing service (following relevant training and support)
- Assist customers with technical support on our front-end platforms and chart packages
- Convey regulatory, financial markets, or IG-related changes to customers in a timely manner
- Provide information relating to ongoing corporate actions
- Be curious about our product and the technology behind it
- Care about our customers and be hungry to improve their user experience
- Be impatient about driving change and willing to deliver at pace
- Not be afraid of the complexity of financial regulation and be eager to learn and grow your expertise
- Be a creative problem solver capable of innovating and thinking big
- Be willing to work in a rotational, shift-based schedule
What you’ll need for this role
You should have a genuine interest in working in financial markets, along with strong motivation, numerical aptitude, and attention to detail. Additionally, you will need:
- A degree-level education; finance-related preferred
- 6–18 months of experience in a customer-facing or middle-office role, preferably in financial services
- A keen, demonstrable interest in understanding financial markets
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A dependable team player who demonstrates integrity and remains effective under pressure
- A logical and analytical approach to problem solving with a strong numerical aptitude
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Fluency in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese (written and spoken)
