Job Summary
Energy Market Company Pte Ltd (EMC) operates Singapore’s wholesale electricity market, which is Asia’s first liberalized electricity market. EMC is the financial exchange for electricity trading, providing the IT systems, trading environment and governance for the market. We transact over $6 billion of electricity products annually.
Unit / Team
Market Administration plays a key role in the evolution and development of Singapore’s wholesale electricity market (SWEM). Its primary function is to recommend and make SWEM market rule changes. It is also heavily involved in the design and implementation of regulatory and market mechanisms that support Singapore’s electricity transition towards net-zero 2050.

Job Responsibilities
- Assist economists/analysts in:
- Research on market rule changes
- Administration of participation in the market
- Studying the SWEM for areas of inefficiency and proposing solutions for them
Knowledge and Skills Requirements
- An analytical and innovative mind good at problem solving (Must)
- Influential writing and communication skills (Must)
- Knowledge of and intellectual interest in electricity markets
- Good overall understanding of operational, financial, and legal concepts
- Knowledge of emerging trends in the overall energy landscape is an added advantage
