Overview

Piper Sandler is seeking an Analyst to join the Private Funds Group in New York City. The Private Funds Group is an integral part of Aviditi Advisors, now part of Piper Sandler. The team focuses on building a differentiated, private equity–focused advisory platform across primary/secondary advisory, fundraising, and direct transaction solutions. Since 2020, Aviditi Advisors has advised on over $30 billion in transaction volume.

About the Team

The Private Funds Group operates within Piper Sandler as part of the Private Capital Advisory group. The team collaborates across Capital Solutions and Secondary Capital Advisory to deliver full-life cycle strategic advisory to clients, including entrepreneurial and growing environments seeking to expand their private equity activities.

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite prospective managers by analyzing performance, portfolio companies, marketability, and related factors.
  • Design go-to-market strategies and market alternative investment products.
  • Prepare marketing materials and support post-launch execution with the relationship management team.
  • Collaborate with Capital Solutions and Secondary Capital Advisory to provide end-to-end advisory services.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects and other assigned work.

Qualifications

  • At least one full year of experience at a leading investment bank or placement agent.
  • Undergraduate degree from a top-tier school.
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, including Excel modeling and valuation.
  • Strong technology skills with exceptional Excel and PowerPoint abilities.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey concepts concisely.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and synthesize large amounts of information.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and intellectually curious; thrives in a high-energy environment.
  • Professional and mature interaction with clients.
  • Highest level of ethics, integrity, and judgment.
  • FINRA SIE, Series 7, 63, and 79 licenses or a willingness to obtain them.

Additional Information

Salary: The anticipated starting salary range is $125,000–$135,000 per year, depending on experience, location, and other factors. This position is eligible for annual incentive compensation, which will be part of total compensation. Total compensation will be competitive with the market.
