Investment Intern

We are expanding our investment team in the UK and are looking for an exceptional Investment Intern. As an Intern in the AURELIUS investment team, you will work as part of a lean deal team, supporting business development activities and live transactions. Your role will involve contributing to deep sector research, identifying potential targets, and providing commercial assessments of potential and live opportunities, with a particular focus on the business services segment.

This internship is designed for highly motivated students who are curious about private equity, enjoy analytical work, and want to experience how complex transactions are executed in practice. Under the guidance of an experienced team, you will gain exposure to all key aspects of a private equity deal.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Analysis

• Support with company, market, and industry research.
• Assist in identifying potential roll-up opportunities and add-on acquisitions in business services.
• Support the screening and analysis of potential acquisitions, including high-level commercial and financial assessment.
• Help prepare investment memorandums and internal decision materials.
• Gain exposure to building and reviewing financial models and interpreting financial statements and KPIs.

Transaction Execution

• Receive exposure to due diligence workstreams (commercial, financial, operational, and other areas as relevant).
• Assist with the preparation of presentations and materials for internal investment committees and external stakeholders (management teams, advisers, financing partners).
• Help coordinate data and information flows between a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
• Support with market and buyer research and supporting materials.

Portfolio and Internal Project Support

• Understand the monitoring of portfolio companies, including tracking performance, market developments, and key initiatives.
• Contribute to ad hoc analyses and internal projects, such as screening new sub-sectors, competitor mapping, and thematic research.
• Participate in team meetings and discussions, sharing insights and perspectives, and working closely with both investment and operations professionals.

Education and Experience

Education

• Currently studying for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, ideally in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related technical or quantitative discipline.
• Strong academic track record.

Skills and Experience

Previous internship experience in one or more of the following areas is an advantage but not required:

• Private equity
• Investment banking
• Strategy consulting
• Transaction services / corporate finance / deal advisory
• A relevant corporate role (e.g., corporate development, FP&A)

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills; confident working with Excel and PowerPoint.
• Structured way of thinking with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Solid understanding of financial statements and basic valuation concepts (e.g., DCF, trading and transaction multiples).
• Genuine interest in the private equity industry and in business services as an investment theme.
• Proactive, hands-on mindset with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and to manage multiple workstreams in parallel.
• Excellent communication skills; fluent in English (additional European languages are a plus).
