Private Infrastructure Debt Intern - Summer 2027

Principal Asset Management is hiring a Private Infrastructure Debt Intern for Summer 2027. You will develop a deep understanding of infrastructure private credit across various sectors, including transportation, digital infrastructure, social infrastructure, power and energy, energy transition, and utilities. What You'll Do

As an intern, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the analysis and assessment of infrastructure debt investment opportunities.
• Developing historical and projected financial models, analyzing key financial metrics, performing legal analysis, and conducting industry research to support investments.
• Independently conducting fundamental sector research.
• Supporting the team in market research and financial modeling efforts.
• Participating in the preparation of investment reports and presentations.
• Monitoring and reporting on the performance of existing investments.
• Engaging in team meetings and contributing to project discussions.
• Assisting the team in identifying opportunities to enhance processes through automation, data analytics, and emerging AI tools to improve efficiency and decision-making.

Qualifications and Requirements

Who You Are

We are looking for a candidate who:

• Is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in a technical field (such as finance, accounting, economics, statistics, engineering, data science, or business analytics).
• Possesses advanced Excel experience.
• Demonstrates the capability to function autonomously and collaboratively within a team setting.
• Has an ambitious attitude with a keen interest in finance and infrastructure investments.
• Exhibits outstanding attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Internship Details

Compensation & Benefits

Internship Stipend: You will receive a lump sum stipend of $4,000 to support incidental expenses. The Company will provide a tax gross-up on this stipend.

Salary Information: Salary ranges reflect targeted base salaries. (Note: Sales/non-sales structure applies generally to company roles, but internship compensation is specified by stipend.)

Time Off Program: Includes paid company holidays and any time off required by state law.

Pension: Not eligible.
