Summer 2027 Business Strategy Intern

Our Business Strategy team is central to Lazard Asset Management. We partner with investments, sales, finance, operations, and technology teams to set priorities, drive firmwide initiatives, and translate strategy into execution. The team supports critical functions including business planning, competitor and market analysis, operating model and efficiency projects, and providing analysis for senior management decision-making. We are seeking an intern to join us for Summer 2027!

This hands-on, 10-week internship is designed for students interested in a career in asset management. You will work directly with the Strategic Initiatives Project Manager on various business-critical projects. Responsibilities may include:

• Conducting industry and competitor research.
• Analyzing business and product trends.
• Supporting business planning and resource allocation exercises.
• Documenting operating processes to identify efficiencies.
• Preparing presentation materials for senior management and governance forums.

In addition to role-specific training, interns benefit from mentorship, networking opportunities, and access to employee resource groups like LEAD, which focuses on developing future leaders through training, internal mobility, and philanthropy.

Eligibility Criteria

Program Requirements

• Must be a rising undergraduate senior graduating in 2028.
• Must be available for the internship from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027.
• Must be able to be physically present in NYC for the entire duration of the internship.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Additional Qualifications

In addition to the above, candidates should demonstrate:

• Consistent academic achievement while pursuing a quantitative or analytical major.
• Relevant internship and part-time work experience.
• Leadership experience and excellent judgment.
• Demonstrated fluency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to synthesize meaning from data.
• Critical judgment regarding AI outputs—a willingness to verify and fact-check AI-generated content rather than accepting it blindly.
• Familiarity or experience with generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, or similar).
• Adaptability and willingness to learn internal AI tools.
• Exceptional organization, communication skills (written and oral), and strong attention to detail.
• Intellectual curiosity and a strong willingness to learn.
• A demonstrated interest in the asset management industry.
• Sound judgment, maturity, and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

Compensation and Culture

The base salary for this Summer Internship is $85,000 USD.
