Internship: Reinsurance Broker
Location: New York, NY or Edina, MN
Salary: Up to $30/hour plus overtime

Introduction

When insurance companies need insurance, they turn to a reinsurance company or broker. That’s what we do: we provide brokerage insurance for insurance companies, with access to the full market to secure the best deals for our clients.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Reinsurance Broker Intern, you’ll learn about reinsurance, risk mitigation solutions, contract negotiation, portfolio management, and the decision-making process behind reinsurance for current and prospective clients. You’ll work both independently and as a valued member of the team.

In addition, you will:

• Help with reinsurance placements and client initiatives
• Help track reinsurance placements
• Assist with the creation of client marketing materials
• Perform risk analysis and financial modeling
• Complete market research and analysis

Who We’re Looking For

You can clearly communicate your thoughts and ideas both in writing and in person. You can also handle multiple tasks and projects in a client service, deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a degree majoring in Risk Management, Insurance, Finance Mathematics, Accounting, or Economics
• Be a rising senior (graduating in December 2027 or by June 2028)
• Have a GPA of 3.5+
• Be proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Pay close attention to detail
• Be legally authorized to work in the US
