Credit Strategy Analyst (Hybrid - London)

Role Overview

We are looking for a Credit Strategy Analyst who will develop credit risk strategies that balance customer growth targets (volume) with credit risk. You will use data and analytics to solve business problems related to credit risk, pricing, and portfolio monitoring and analytics.

This role reports to a Credit Strategy Manager and works closely with cross-functional teams including sales, data science, product, technology, and operations to build our credit strategy and identify new opportunities using cutting-edge analytical techniques.

What You Will Do

Your impact will focus on two core pillars: Credit Strategy & Analytics and Reporting & Data.

• Build data-driven strategies: Identify the factors that shape credit outcomes and use these signals to develop strategies that optimize business outcomes within our risk appetite. Explore alternative data sources and recommend data enrichment strategies to improve our decision engine.
• Structure and build reporting: Design, build, and maintain reporting requirements for the risk team. Ensure credit risk metrics are accurate, accessible, and up to date.
• Generate actionable insights: Go beyond reporting by analyzing data to identify trends, opportunities, and emerging risks. Visualize findings and present them clearly to help teams make evidence-based decisions.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Work with commercial and engineering teams to ensure credit risk requirements are considered while building new propositions and introducing new channels or segments.

Who You Are

• Analytical: Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down complex business problems into solvable components. You are comfortable challenging assumptions.
• Storyteller with data: Confident communicator who can deliver clear strategies and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Educational background: Undergraduate degree and/or Masters in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Econometrics, or a related analytical field.
• Builder mindset: Comfortable working with complex, messy, distributed data and turning it into structured, automated solutions.
• Technical and coding skills: Proficient in programming, confident in Python and SQL, and motivated to further develop your coding skills. As an AI-led company, you should be up to date with current developments and apply them in your day-to-day work (we use Claude).
• Professional experience: One to two years of experience in a credit or analytics role is preferred, though exceptional candidates with less experience are encouraged to apply.
