Internship Program Overview

Our Interns & Co-ops are our entry-level talent pipeline for GF across the globe. Our goal is to provide students with meaningful work experience that will equip them with the skills to embark on a career in the fast-paced and growing semiconductor industry after graduation. As an intern at GF, you’ll experience one-on-one mentorship, work assignments that prioritize your growth and potential, professional development opportunities, and the chance to network with executives.

Summary of Role

As a Machine Learning Intern for Digital Manufacturing, you will join the Digital Manufacturing Group and gain hands-on experience developing and deploying AI, machine learning, and Generative AI solutions within the AI Integration Team. You will help support best practices for analytics use case development, deployment, scaling, and maintenance of AI/ML projects.

Essential Responsibilities

• Support the AI Integration Team in developing and deploying AI/ML models.
• Analyze manufacturing data to develop features, insights, and predictive models.
• Work with highly complex data for feature development using AI/ML models.
• Collaborate with Digital Manufacturing MLEs, data scientists, and business stakeholders on AI-driven projects.
• Learn and apply modern AI/ML technologies, software engineering practices, and MLOps concepts.

Other Responsibilities

• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Familiarity with Python and common data science libraries.
• Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and model development.
• Exposure to AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch and Scikit-Learn.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Must be in good academic standing.
• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
• Available for a 16–24 week, credit-bearing internship commencing January 2027.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior related internship or co-op experience.
• Exposure to Generative AI, LLMs, LangChain, RAG, or AI agents.
• Exposure to MLOps, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Exposure to semiconductor or manufacturing processes.
