Duties and Responsibilities

• Process various customer transactions using the bank’s core operating system and cash dispenser.
• Analyze and resolve customer concerns through satisfactory verbal and written communication while following established procedures.
• Help deter fraud by checking the validity of all documentation received from customers, verifying signatures and pedigree information, reviewing teller terminal holds, examining checks for endorsements, and confirming other details such as dates, bank names, and the legitimacy and/or negotiability of items.
• Verify the accuracy of transaction slips using basic math skills and calculators.
• Balance daily by counting cash, adding checks, listing transaction totals, and reconciling ledger items; identify and correct transaction errors when debits and credits do not balance.
• Ensure regulatory compliance by applying bank policies and procedures when processing transactions.
• Scan checks and ensure proper bank endorsement to receive accurate credit and settlement in accordance with Regulation CC.
• Sell currency as necessary to management to mitigate risk and remain compliant with established cash limits.
• Perform clerical tasks assigned by the Branch Management Team and Head Teller, including filing, scanning work, and locating records.
• Adhere to current shred procedures to remain compliant with Regulation P.
• Assist with training new teller trainees by demonstrating and teaching appropriate transaction processing, observing and correcting trainees during transactions, and assisting them in preparing to open their own teller box.
