Overview

ICBC Standard Bank Plc (ICBCS) is a leading financial markets and commodities bank with a global network and expertise. The internship offers a platform to shape your future career within the Finance – Financial Reporting division.

Location & Duration

Location: New York Office, 1185 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY. During the internship program, you will spend most of your time in the NY office.

Duration: 4–12 weeks with immediate start. Please ensure you can commit to this timeframe.

Division & Team

Division: Finance – Financial Reporting. The New York Finance team encompasses Financial Reporting and Control, Management Reporting, Product Control, Tax, and Treasury & Capital Management. The Financial Reporting and Control function is responsible for consolidation, control, and reporting of ICBCS NY Holdings’ consolidated financial results, and for submission of FOCUS and SIPC reporting under FINRA and NFA compliance. The team reports to the Head of Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily general ledger entries for payroll, bank payments, and prepayments.
  • Facilitate monthly benefit reconciliation to SAP entries.
  • Process expense reports on the Concur system to generate files and journal entries.
  • Perform the monthly close process.
  • Support with regulatory reporting.
  • Support general ledger, tax reporting, month-end reporting, and bank reconciliation activities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong Microsoft Office knowledge (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is advantageous.
  • Hardworking, flexible, reliable, team-oriented, and a good communicator.
  • Organised, with the ability to think laterally and learn quickly.
  • General ledger knowledge; double-booking accounting knowledge is an advantage.
  • Currently pursuing or educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Attention to detail; high standards of work; strong teamwork and integrity.
  • Resilience, openness, inclusivity, and accountability.

Pay: $150 per day.
