What this job involves

Supporting the team

You will be working side-by-side with the team to ensure the success of a project—from the tendering stage, to design phase, to construction, and to completion. The projects are varied in value and complexity, including fit-outs and refurbishments for both Tenants and Landlords in Commercial, Retail, Industrial, Hospitality and Education.

Managing multiple projects concurrently

You will coordinate with multiple vendors to prevent downtime during works. You will be involved in preparing project specifications and timelines, tender or bid documents, vendor procurement, and weekly project reports and updates for stakeholders. Delivering projects within established budgets and timelines is the key.

Our successful Cost Estimators:

• Prepare tender pricing and cost estimations, sourcing quotations, cost evaluation, and cost comparisons
• Prepare high-level cost estimations / pre-tender estimates in short turnaround times
• Review tender documents, specifications and drawings to take off quantities
• Consult with engineers, architects, designers, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes to cost estimates
• Compile Bills of Quantities, tender documents/amendments, and submission of tender bids
• Compare and negotiate prices with suppliers, contractors and subcontractors
• Evaluate contract/sub-contract works and perform contract administration with clients and vendors
• Maintain cost monitoring and reporting systems; prepare and issue purchase orders and verify supplier invoices
• Manage procurement via JLL’s cloud-based platform
• Research and evaluate prospective suppliers
• Pre-qualify vendors to JLL standards and expand the vendor pool
• Maintain positive relations with suppliers, contractors and subcontractors; experience in Interior Fit-out works preferred
• Thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines and high expectations
• Other duties as assigned

To apply you need to be:

We employ talent from a wide range of backgrounds, though typically you should have:

• A degree or diploma in a relevant field, and/or one to two years’ experience as a QS in an interior design firm, D&B or contractor firm, or a similar position
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong technological savviness; excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Good analytical and strategic thinking skills
• Attention to detail; a strong sense of urgency in solving problems, improving processes, and implementing new strategies
