Overview

The Dedicated Lending SAFE Act is an entry-level position responsible for contributing to the formulation and implementation of long- and short-term strategic plans with the objective of increasing market share and maximizing opportunities for growth throughout the marketplace. The Dedicated Lending SAFE Act assists product specialists with qualified referrals for cross-sell and helps in closing deals across products while coordinating underwriting and credit practices.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver mortgage lending services to clients in consultation with assigned Home Lending Officers in all aspects of the loan application process, including collecting borrower information, advising on mortgage options, quoting rates/terms from the system, and addressing follow-ups on the application and processing.
  • Gather information from clients and third-party sources (e.g., title companies, real estate agents) and apply judgment to determine items needed to submit files to underwriting for approval.
  • Monitor the application pipeline to ensure key dates (consent, lock, lock expiration, anticipated closing dates) are met and communicate requirements and timelines to clients.
  • Manage the marketing process for the supported Home Lending Officer, including marketing material management and follow-up on prospective customer leads, open houses, realtor events, and training events.
  • Partner with Operations teams to ensure the seamless transfer of the loan application, provide documents to processors, and obtain any additional information needed by processors and/or underwriters.
  • Manage customer inquiries and build and maintain relationships with the client book of business.
  • Assess risk when making business decisions, safeguard Citi’s reputation and assets, drive compliance with applicable laws and policy, apply ethical judgment, and escalate and report control issues with transparency.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in Mortgage/Loan Origination
  • Banking experience preferred
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • This position requires registration as a mortgage loan originator with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) and obtaining a unique identifier before engaging in mortgage loan originator activities, maintaining and renewing registration annually, updating registration information promptly, and providing the identifier to consumers as required by SAFE Act regulations and Citi policies and procedures.

Education

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or High School diploma/equivalent with at least 2 years of relevant Loan Origination experience

Competencies

  • Expert knowledge of general lending products and services and pricing alternatives in the industry.
  • Ability to comprehend and explain financial calculations and pricing options.
  • Strong communication skills with customers about the documents and information needed to obtain a loan.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations governing consumer lending, including fair lending, privacy, and RESPA.
  • Self-starters who can work independently or with existing partnerships and have a proven track record.
  • Ability to work as part of a team to grow the assigned branch/branches or community organization.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range: $72,000.00 - $105,000.00
