Software Engineer, Internship

The Role

Software Engineers at Palantir build software at scale to transform how organizations around the world use data. As a Software Engineer Intern, you’ll contribute high-quality code directly to Palantir Gotham, Palantir Foundry, or Palantir Apollo—products deployed at leading institutions across public and private sectors. You’ll create features used by research scientists, aerospace engineers, intelligence analysts, and economic forecasters worldwide. Our Product Development organization consists of small teams focusing on specific aspects of a product, such as a Foundry front-end application or a Gotham release infrastructure component. We encourage collaboration across teams to share context, skills, and experience, so you’ll learn about many aspects of each product.

Core Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer, you are involved throughout the product lifecycle—from idea generation, design, and prototyping to execution and shipping. You’ll be paired with a mentor dedicated to your growth and success. You’ll collaborate with technical and non-technical colleagues to understand customer problems and build solutions. You may have opportunities to meet users directly to understand their mission and challenges.

Technologies We Use

We value clean, effective code and the ability to learn new languages quickly. Our software evolves continually, so we seek engineers who can grow with us. Current technologies include:

• Languages: Java and Go for backend; TypeScript for frontend
• Open-source technologies: Cassandra, Spark, Elasticsearch, React, Redux
• Build tooling: Gradle, GitHub

What We Value

• Ability to communicate and collaborate with engineers, users, and non-technical stakeholders
• Willingness to learn, make independent decisions, and ask questions when needed
• Active US security clearance, or eligibility and willingness to obtain one

What We Require

• Engineering background in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or Physics
• Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and related tools
• Experience coding in Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, or similar languages
• Planning to graduate in 2028; this will be your final internship before graduating

Salary

The estimated salary range for this position is $10,500 per month. Total compensation will be determined by qualifications, experience, skills, and other factors. This estimate excludes the value of benefits and potential long-term incentives.
