Quality Assurance Engineer II at Amazon Advertising LLC, based in New York, New York. Job Number: AMZ9899653.
Employer will consider multiple positions available for this role. The position focuses on testing large-scale systems, developing test plans and cases, and driving continuous improvements to QA processes using Internet and Web technologies such as Apache, HTTP, XML, HTML, Load Balancing, and DNS. Responsibilities include developing tests in Java and Shell Scripts in a Linux environment, coordinating deployment of manual and automated tests for complex systems, and testing mobile device development kits and frameworks. The role involves designing and building automated test cases for mobile device GUIs using test automation frameworks such as VNC Robot and Java, and supporting QA for large-scale, distributed software systems using Java, including white-box and black-box tests. Collaboration with engineers, business owners, and customer service professionals across the development and testing lifecycle is required, including requirements gathering and design. The role also includes advising project management and development teams on testing procedures, using functional specifications to plan and sign off on test plans and automated tests, and providing regular status reports on test execution, bugs discovered, and bugs fixed.
Responsibilities
- Lead the testing of large-scale systems, create test plans and test cases, and drive QA process improvements.
- Develop tests using Java and Shell Scripts in a Linux environment.
- Document and coordinate the deployment of manual and automated tests for complex systems.
- Test mobile device development kits and device frameworks.
- Design and build automated test cases for mobile device GUIs using test automation frameworks such as VNC Robot and Java.
- Design, develop, and execute QA test cases and support tests for large-scale, distributed software systems using Java, including white-box and black-box tests.
- Collaborate with engineers, business owners, and customer service professionals throughout the development and testing lifecycle, including requirements gathering and design.
- Consult with and advise project management and development teams on technical issues related to planning, developing, implementing, and modifying testing procedures.
- Use functional specifications to plan, create, or sign off on test plans, test cases, and automated test cases.
- Provide regular, detailed status reports on project progress, including test cases executed, bugs discovered, and bugs fixed.
Work Schedule
40 hours per week, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Salary
Salary Range: $125,300/year to $177,100/year.

Basic Qualifications
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and one year of experience in the job offered or related roles (Programmer/Analyst, Quality Assurance Engineer, Software Test Developer, or related occupation). Alternatively, three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation may be substituted for the bachelor's degree with one year of experience.
- One year of experience in developing tests for large-scale software systems using Java or Shell Scripts in Windows, UNIX, or Linux environments.
- One year of experience in documenting and coordinating the deployment of manual and automated tests for complex systems.
