Overview

This role supports Data Centre Operations for Proximity Services based at a JLL client data centre, delivering services to the highest standard for all infrastructure and processes managed within the data centre. The Data Centre Technician will provide technical assistance and overall support for our customers, delivering 24/7 cover through a 12-hour shift pattern.

Responsibilities

• Install racks, housing, network and computer equipment.
• Manage and implement installations as required, including shelves, power strips, rails, cable management and customer IT equipment.
• Identify hardware or cabling issues, replace internal components, and test, trace and label cabling.
• Coordinate with counterparts within the company globally and with third parties on hardware-related issues and processes.
• Uphold standards of tidiness, cleanliness, security, asset information and installation standards within the computer suites.

Qualifications

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• Computer engineering experience to achieve optimum methods of working.
• Cabling experience and knowledge to optimize methods of working.
• Installation of rack-mount kits including HP and CISCO.
• Hardware maintenance – swapping failed customer replaceable parts such as cache batteries, HDDs, power supplies.
• Highly motivated, with a positive and proactive attitude to work.
• Willingness to improve operational efficiency through innovation, processes, and procedures.
• Ability to act rapidly and logically under pressure and to leverage others in problem resolution.
• Capable of working with minimal supervision.
• Good written and verbal communication skills (English).
• Good working knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Excellent teamwork, with the ability to listen and contribute to discussions and meetings.
• Customer and service-focused, with a determination to meet their needs.

Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• ITIL Accreditation.
• Dell and HP product knowledge.
• Experience with ServiceNow.
