The Financial Institutions Coverage (FIC) group builds long-term relationships with key clients to deliver original and integrated ideas and solutions. The Institutional Credit Analysis Team (ICAT) within FIC provides credit analysis and recommendations for financial institutions. The Funds Team within ICAT focuses on fund counterparties, primarily hedge funds, requiring client-facing interaction and onsite due diligence. The role also includes Initial Margin calculations for OTC derivative products and demands a broad set of skills from technical analysis to advanced communication and relationship-building.

Role & Responsibilities

Role: Fund-focused analyst within ICAT, supporting hedge funds and related activities.

• Primary focus on Hedge Funds
• Participate in technical and business skills training
• Support senior team members with day-to-day activities
• Complete specific assignments
• Engage in a variety of tasks that vary by team assignment

Requirements

• Degree from a leading university with an excellent academic record, or equivalent work experience
• Good understanding of financial markets
• Curious and eager to learn
• Confident verbal and written communication and networking skills
• Proficient with MS Office tools, including Excel
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills
• Strong analytical ability and judgment
• Meticulous accuracy with keen attention to detail
• Team player, proactive, independent, enthusiastic self-starter with strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent spoken and written English; additional languages are an advantage
• For some roles, programming skills (C++, Python, Java, R or equivalent) may be required

Internship Details

• Successful candidates for this long-term internship will be considered for London only.
• Discuss available start dates with interviewers.
