Business Overview

ERI (Energy, Resources, & Infrastructure) combines the expertise of teams providing innovative solutions in energy and infrastructure with a primary focus on sectors such as power and renewables, digital infrastructure, EV battery manufacturing and related supply chains, sustainable/core infrastructure, and clean fuels across the Americas. ERI’s mission is to be a market leader in the Americas and a solution provider for value-added structured debt advice and transaction execution. ERI focuses on various transaction types in those sectors, including green-field or brown-field developments, refinancing, and acquisitions for single assets or portfolios of assets.

ERI advises, arranges, and/or structures loans, project bonds, or multilateral financings suitable to client activities in diverse sectors. ERI benefits from longstanding involvement and experience in both advisory and arranging, enabling the team to structure complex limited-recourse or other financings through a combination of funding outlets—such as debt capital markets, commercial banks, multilaterals or development agencies, export credit, etc. ERI’s primary revenue sources are fees (advisory, structuring, underwriting, and upfront) and margin revenues. The team also provides BNPP with cross-sell opportunities focused on Global Markets, M&A, Export Finance, and Commodity Trading with whom it regularly executes joint assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead work on financial modeling, including complex models, building models from scratch, and running multiple sensitivities.
  • Execute and originate project and structured finance deals.
  • Prepare project and financing documentation and manage the closing process, interfacing with internal counsel.
  • Perform project due diligence liaising with consultants (legal, technical, environmental, insurance, tax, etc.).
  • Structure and advise on the best structures and products to achieve clients’ goals.
  • Utilize the full resources of the Bank to provide optimal solutions and structures for clients.
  • Structure and close bank, project bond, private placement, and Term Loan A or B project finance and related structured debt transactions, primarily in energy and infrastructure sectors.
  • Execute lead-arranged (bond or bank) or advisory limited-recourse or structured financings.
  • Collaborate with LCTG / Coverage, Syndications, Global Markets (debt capital markets & derivatives), M&A, etc.
  • Market to potential clients (pitches, proposals, and presentations).
  • Execute and supervise credit approvals and due diligence processes.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field.
  • 1–2 years of project or structured finance experience at a major financial institution, corporation, or rating agency, including credit analysis, modeling, due diligence, and documentation.
  • Strong credit, financial analysis, quantitative, and modeling skills.
  • Experience with full credit analysis and preparation of credit applications for internal risk approvals.
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, accounting, and financial terminology.
  • Experience handling complex structured financing or corporate accounts.
  • Ability to work well with multiple teams across product and geographical lines.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (verbal and written).
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills, including managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • High ethics and integrity; solution-driven, proactive, and innovative with a desire to learn and take on more responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of structured finance, including key credit parameters and decision metrics.
  • Formal credit training.
  • Experience with internal processes and requirements of a leading international financial institution.
  • Knowledge of loan and capital markets and structured finance credit and legal documentation.

FINRA Registrations Required

  • SIE, Series 63 & 79

Salary

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $100,000 and $110,000 annually. Actual salary may vary based on factors including relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic location.
