Experienced Analyst – Investment Banking, Healthcare

Job Summary

The Healthcare team at Guggenheim Securities (GS) is seeking an experienced Analyst to join its New York office, with a focus on the Biopharma industry. The role involves providing M&A advisory and capital raising services to corporate clients. The position offers exposure to senior bankers and client representatives and opportunities to contribute to major strategic assignments within small client teams.

GS seeks top performers who are motivated to earn a promotion to Associate upon completion of the Analyst program and develop a long-term banking career.

Essential Job Functions

• Prepare client presentations and interact with senior bankers, clients, lawyers, and accountants
• Assist in developing complex financial models and valuation analyses
• Perform client due diligence, prepare information memoranda, and other transaction-related documentation
• Contribute to the creation of strategic frameworks, tools, and intellectual property to aid business development
• Conduct competitive research, including identifying sector and industry trends
• Gather and analyze information, formulate and test hypotheses, and communicate recommendations to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry expertise in healthcare is a plus (not required)
• Strong maturity and ability to work as part of a team interfacing with top company executives and senior management
• Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas to senior management and clients
• Proven track record of high intellectual capability across academic and professional experiences
• Intellectually curious with a passion to understand how organizations perform best

Basic Qualifications

• 1+ years of investment banking experience or 2+ years of equivalent experience in a quantitatively rigorous field (e.g., business development, strategy/M&A consulting)
• Familiarity with M&A and Equity Capital Markets transactions
• Analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
• Mastery of basic valuation and financial statement analysis

Salary

• Annual base salary between $110,000 and $125,000
• The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salaries for this position. Actual base salaries may vary by location and experience. The range reflects base salary only; total compensation may include incentive components.
