AWM Private Overview

AWM Private is the primary center for Goldman Sachs’ long-term principal investing activity. It has operated as an integral part of the firm for more than 35 years and comprises six main asset management businesses: Corporate Equity, Growth Equity, Corporate Credit, Infrastructure, Sustainability, and Real Estate. Investments are made on behalf of Goldman Sachs, its employees, and clients through a series of investment vehicles and strategies.

Position Description

The successful applicant will understand financial information, identify relationships, and raise issues or concerns with integrity, attention to detail, motivation, and a client-focused mindset. They will support more senior team members with recurring tasks, project-based work, and ad hoc analyses.

Responsibilities

  • Determine and support appropriate fair market values across multiple investing disciplines and geographies
  • Prepare and maintain multi-year departmental revenue, balance sheet, and other risk metric forecasts involving multiple investment strategies
  • Maintain working knowledge of significant investments and forecasting assumptions
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the valuation and budgeting process
  • Respond to ad hoc requests and prepare analyses for them

Additional responsibilities will be based on the needs of the division and the candidate’s specific skills.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or another business discipline
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of capital and debt markets
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong coordination and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and handle stressful situations
  • Ability to work independently in a small team, exhibit initiative, and be proactive
  • Ability to organize and analyze large volumes of information
  • Team player, willing to assist in areas not explicitly related to job duties
  • Comfortable working with a manager in a remote location
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills

Salary & Benefits

Salary Range: The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $85,000–$110,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
