Intern - HVM PIE PI (High Volume Manufacturing, Process Integration Engineering, Process Integration)
Micron Technology·Singapore
Role details
Project Description
Advanced NAND technologies rely on complex high‑aspect‑ratio (HAR) process steps that require careful integration across multiple process modules. Understanding how engineers evaluate these processes and interpret integration data is critical for building strong fundamentals in semiconductor manufacturing.
The student will study documented, historical process evaluation data and engineering methodologies used in high‑aspect‑ratio NAND process development. Through guided learning and supervision, the student will gain exposure to how engineers analyze process interactions, assess integration risks, and evaluate impacts on product performance.
Learning Objectives / Learning Opportunities
- Develop foundational understanding of NAND device structures and HAR process concepts
- Learn how process integration engineers evaluate cross‑module process interactions
- Understand the use of engineering data to assess potential impacts on wafer performance and product quality
- Build analytical thinking skills through structured review of historical engineering assessments
- Gain exposure to integration‑focused problem‑solving approaches without participating in operational execution
Project Scope
- Review and study historical process integration case studies related to HAR NAND processes
- Analyze pre‑generated process evaluation data sets to understand engineering assessment methodologies
- Learn how upstream and downstream process interactions are evaluated in an integration context
- Review documented probe test summaries and failure analysis reports for learning purposes
- Develop conceptual frameworks to describe common integration risks and assessment considerations
Deliverables
- Technical learning summary of selected historical process integration assessments
- Conceptual workflow illustrating how HAR process evaluations are conducted
- Analysis report highlighting general factors that influence process integration risk and variability
- Final presentation summarizing learning outcomes and engineering insights gained during the internship
Skillset Required
- Strong interest in semiconductor manufacturing and engineering concepts
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret technical data and documentation
- Willingness to learn through guided study, discussion, and structured analysis
- Prior semiconductor coursework is beneficial but not required
Course of Interest
Engineering and Science disciplines, including Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related fields.
Duration
Min 5 months (Semester Internship from Aug 2026 to Dec 2026)
