Overview

Moelis & Company’s Business Management team seeks an Analyst in the New York office. The Business Management function directs the firm’s strategy and development, franchise management, banker resource management, reporting and analysis, and business data management. The Analyst will report to the Director of Business Management and support the Capital Structure Advisory team. The role involves working on strategic business performance projects across multiple areas, including franchise and pipeline management, business strategy and development, banker performance, talent management, data administration, and reporting and analysis. The position requires extensive interaction with bankers, management, and other firm functions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in prospecting new business opportunities and maintain internal materials and dashboards that track business development efforts
  • Provide support for a full range of requests leveraging Bloomberg for live mandates and pitches
  • Conduct Capital Structure Advisory related and ad-hoc research for live mandates
  • Build distressed company profiles detailing a company’s capital structure, debt history, majority holders, and performance
  • Maintain weekly internal presentations and assist in improving the structure of internal reports
  • Participate in internal meetings
  • Maintain multiple databases in Excel and Salesforce (e.g., Exchange Offers and Fee Comparisons)
  • Track and forecast revenue for live mandates

Skills and Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in a business-related major
  • 6 months to 3 years of experience in the financial services industry preferred
  • Strong technical/computer and market data services skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Salesforce, Bloomberg; Dealogic and PitchBook a plus)
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills (financial and data analysis)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with bankers and employees at all levels across the firm

Compensation

Expected Salary Range: USD 75,000 – 85,000
