Since our inception as a skunkworks intern project in 2015, we have grown into a dynamic team across a range of functions, playing a key role in developing some of the largest and most innovative crypto communities.

Role Overview

As a Campus Intern Researcher at Jump Crypto, you will have the opportunity to partner with senior leaders and researchers to help shape the direction of our strategic efforts. The role is dynamic: depending on your strengths and interests, you may explore macro-level trends informing the group’s future, advise engineers or partners on nuanced issues, produce research reports, or assist the business development team with partnerships. You will leverage your knowledge of the crypto industry, computer science, distributed systems, consensus algorithms, networking, game theory, and related disciplines to identify, vet, and propose new business initiatives. The ideal candidate will contribute deeply to areas where they can add the most value.

What You’ll Do

• Monitor the broader crypto landscape and identify new opportunities for Jump Crypto.
• Translate industry trends into actionable architecture, product, or investment strategies.
• Aggregate information from technical repositories, research reports, white papers, industry relationships, Jump Crypto data, and feedback from our team or partners to produce content, recommendations, or guidance for the group’s strategy.
• Empower the broader Jump Crypto team with research that enhances deals, product insights for engineers, and strategic partnerships for the investment team.
• Contribute to Jump Crypto’s partnerships through direct contributions or advisory input on code, tokenomics modeling, strategy, and related areas.
• Produce actionable insights on incomplete data to drive decisions on investments and product strategy.
• Identify early-stage opportunities for investments, engineering, market making, and trading operations.
• Feed research insights on new trends (e.g., MEV) or projects back to the group through clear writing or effective presentations.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Skills You’ll Need

• Strong interest in the crypto industry and the ability to follow its evolving landscape to inform macro-level strategy or project architecture.
• Proficiency in one or more disciplines relevant to blockchain development, including smart contracts, cryptography, crypto-economics, networking, consensus algorithms, distributed systems, and related technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to the appropriate audience.
• Ability to balance open-ended, exploratory research with actionable results.
