The programmes
Unum Group runs two student tracks and three named multi-year rotational programs, detailed on its early-career hub and development programs page:
- Summer Internships: a 10-week, full-time paid placement with a sign-on bonus
- Year-Round Scholars Program: part-time (15–28 hours a week) alongside coursework through the academic year, with many scholars converting to full-time roles after graduation
- Professional Development Program (PDP): 3–4 years total, rotating every 12–18 months across functions including Finance, IT, Underwriting and Marketing
- Actuarial Development Program (ADP): a multi-year track toward the FSA designation, rotating every 18–24 months, with paid study time and a salary increase for each exam passed
- Accounting & Finance Development Program (AFDP): a multi-year track toward the CPA or CFA, also rotating every 18–24 months
The two kinds of program run on different clocks: the summer internship is a single ten-week season, while the three development programs ask for a three-to-four-year commitment straight out of school – a longer bet than a typical internship-to-offer pipeline, worth weighing against shorter programs elsewhere before applying.
